A typically sloping site proved no problem for Wellington Contractors, Tuohy homes, working with the clients and their in-house designer, Ross Kerry, to create this grand two storey design and build home. Beautifully proportioned, this 259m² Lockwood uses a mix of timber and aluminium exterior cladding. Schist stone features and black corners add texture and contrast to the exterior.
The upper floor of the home contains the main living areas, kitchen and four bedrooms. Downstairs is a double garage, large rumpus room and bathroom, a perfect retreat for teenagers.
Clerestory windows throughout the living space and bedrooms add a sense of luxury to the home’s interior while offering an abundance of natural light.
The fit-out of the interior shows the care and attention to detail that went into each decision. The lightness of the blonded Lockwood walls contrast against the black joinery and carefully considered furnishings, softened by natural-coloured drapes. Pops of bright colours, such as the stunning pink dining room chairs, add personality and style to the space.
The real showstopper in this home is the large kitchen and cleverly included scullery, open yet tucked in behind high cabinetry. The statement black finish feels warm and luxurious with the addition of textured splashbacks and gold handles. Clean lines and metallic touches make this a sophisticated yet comfortable space.
The high-end feel extends into the bathrooms with negative detail handles in the cabinetry contributing to a crisp, detail-free look.
