Downsizing does not have to mean settling for a cramped living space. The design of the Stewarts’ retirement home called for a feeling of spaciousness on a downsized footprint. To achieve this, high raking ceilings closely follow the gabled roof line creating a sense of space and the generous kitchen, well equipped for family life, features extra wide bifold stackers, which can be used as a serving hatch onto the covered deck.
This indoor-outdoor flow is further enhanced by the ranch sliders across the bedrooms and living areas.
The main en-suite features a walk-in robe and an extended relaxing area off the bedroom.
A stone feature wall with gas fireplace creates a stylish yet cosy atmosphere, which complements the blonded timber interior and enhances the connection between these two natural materials.
With clever design and use of space the Stewarts’ new home design has achieved their goal of downsizing without compromise.
