Cherry Tree Rise, just outside the Waikato town of Tokoroa, is a beautifully appointed Lockwood cottage offering accommodation for visitors to the area.
Hosts Jenny and Peter were looking for a change of pace, after Jenny spent 30 years as an intensive care paramedic in the rural community. With a stunning garden setting and room on their 4 acre property, they decided to add the Lockwood cottage to cater for visitors.
Named Cherry Tree rise for the cherry trees that line the driveway to the entrance, the cottage is centrally located to the Waikato River Trails and only 2.5kms to Cougar Park. Jenny takes every care and pride in creating a home away from home for visitors, even offering catered meals by arrangement.
The existing Lockwood Vacationer design provided the inspiration for the floorplan of the Cherry Tree Rise. Jenny and Peter worked with the Lockwood team to modify the design and extended the living area. A soundproof cavity slider down the centre allows the two-bedroom cottage to be split into two units, sleeping four on each side. Each unit has a bedroom with a super king bed and ensuite, with a queen sofa bed in each living area to accommodate additional guests. The Awanui Suite features a full kitchen and the Sakura suite a kitchenette.
Jenny says she loves hosting people of different ethnicities and backgrounds from all over New Zealand and looks forward to growing their Air B&B business over the coming years. Jenny and Peter have already been awarded “Superhost” status on Air B&B. If you want a weekend away in a stunning new Lockwood with wonderful hosts, make sure to check out Cherry Tree Rise!
