Lockwood to Host Salon de Refusés for 2026 Rotorua Museum Art Awards

Art in a Lockwood just feels right — which is why our Lockwood Show Homes are proud to host the Salon de Refusés exhibition as part of the 2026 Rotorua Museum Art Awards.

Set within the natural warmth of solid timber, the exhibition offers a chance to experience local art in a space designed for living. All artworks will be available for purchase, and visitors can also vote for their favourite piece in the People’s Choice Award. Lockwood is also sponsoring the Youth Award, with $1,000 in prize money to support emerging artists.

Proceeds from the Art Awards go toward the exhibition development project supporting the long-awaited reopening of the Rotorua Museum. As a Rotorua-based company for more than 70 years, supporting creativity, craftsmanship and community feels like a natural fit.
