This longer and narrow site called for a design which would capture all the North facing sun, and include a large workshop and internally accessed double garage where this electronics engineering client could tinker with his various projects.
This build referenced the Phoenix home design due it its shape and size which has made great use of available space by eliminating passages. This home features a centrally placed kitchen with dining opposite in a kick-out area , with a family and living space on either side of this. The laundry, bedrooms and bathrooms are all placed on the other half of the home.
Sliding stacker doors from the living room and bi-fold doors from the main bedroom were incorporated to open onto the private back deck and garden.
A hefty purpose-made concrete benchtop complements the heated polished concrete floors, taking pride of place in the centrally located kitchen. The stainless steel appliances, soft grey accents in the splashback and a pared back timber look for their cabinetry has delivered a sleek and modern feel to this suburban home.
Long sight lines, high clerestories and raking ceilings make for a bright and cheery interior in this warm and welcoming family home. A VG Pine clad feature wall has been included as an additional interest element to compliment the aluminium cladding on the exterior.
